Ethics in Death and Dying explores ethical challenges and dilemmas faced both during the dying process and at the end of life. Topics including pain management, terminating treatment, and life support are reviewed. This course also provides some guidelines for making ethical decisions at the end of life.

Purpose

The purpose of this course is to review common ethical dilemmas and problems associated with the dying process and death.

Learning Objectives

  1. Review core concepts of death and dying
  2. Identify ethical challenges in end of life care    
  3. Describe special end of life concerns and issues

Criteria for Successful Completion

To receive continuing education credit for this program, you must complete the entire course, including registration, viewing the video program, taking the post-test and obtaining a score of at least 70% or better, and completing the program evaluation. If you do not score a 70% or better, you may take the exam again as many times as necessary to receive a passing score. When a score of 70% or better is achieved, you will be able to move forward to the evaluation and receive your certificate online.
