Ethics in Person-Centered Care is a one-hour continuing education course that takes a critical look at the ethics involved in the delivery of person-centered care within senior living and care communities, personal care homes, home health and hospice. It reviews some of the potential ethical conflicts and dilemmas as well as some disadvantages of delivering person-centered care. The course also lists and discusses the advantages and benefits of person-centered care. 

Because person-centered care has become the gold standard in senior care, nurses, administrators, social workers and other healthcare professionals, as well as informal caregivers, will find the information in this course relevant and eye-opening.

Purpose

The purpose of this course is to examine many of the ethical aspects of person-centered care as well as the potential conflicts and disadvantages associated with person-centered care.

Criteria for Successful Completion

To receive continuing education credit for this program, you must complete the entire course, including registration, viewing the video program, taking the post-test and obtaining a score of at least 70% or better, and completing the program evaluation. If you do not score a 70% or better, you may take the exam again as many times as necessary to receive a passing score. When a score of 70% or better is achieved, you will be able to move forward to the evaluation and receive your certificate online.
