Choices Home Care Continuing Education

Welcome Area Agency on Aging Consumer-Directed Individual Providers!

We have partnered with CEU Academy and Collins Learning to provide you the Core Competency training and the additional 8 hours of continuing education. This training is required by the Ohio Department of Aging included in the revised Choices Home Care Attendant Service (OAC 173-39-02.4) that requires Consumer-Directed Individual Providers to have initial training in 5 Areas of Core Competency:

1. Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
2. Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs)
3. Communication and Administration
4. Basic Home Safety
5. Infection Control

You have access to the following courses, which meet these requirements:

1. Activities of Daily Living, Independent Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) and Decreased Mobility
2. Serving Safely from the Kitchen to Table
3. HIPAA: What Every Health Care Professional Needs to Know
4. Safety in Home Care: Preventing Patient and Worker Hazards
5. Infection Control: Getting a Grip on Blood Bourne Pathogens, Exposure Control and Hand Washing

You also have the option to purchase 8 additional hours of continuing education to complete the required hours of training. You will have access to the full CEU Academy course library to select you additional 8 hours of continuing education.

Our courses will fulfill training requirements for all Choices Home Care Providers.
